Climate Change

Cimate change is something that scientists believe will affect the earth severely in the next few decades. Unless we can do something about it soon we could face things like high temperatures in winter, natural disasters in parts of the world where they are not usually known for and UV radiation increasing due to the greenhouse gases polluting the atmosphere. The main gases in the atmosphere are water vapour and carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide being he one that is creating the damage. Most of this comes from burning fossil fuels like petroleum and coal. This pollution can be limited by doing simple household tasks such as turning appilances off at the wall, turning off lights when they are not being used and switching to greener fuels such as solar power to things like heat water.

My Interests

Hey everybody

I have many interests but probably the main ones are football and cricket. I also like going to my friends house and spending time with someone special. My friends names include Louisa (or maybe a bit more than that) (anonymous), Conor, Sam, Jacob, Josh, Andrew, Brendan, Maddy, Tom and i can’t be bothered naming the rest. I like going to the beach and just chilling. I go for Chelsea and if you have a problem i don’t care. Michael Essien is the best. Locally Newcastle Jets go all right even though the A league is pretty bad. Even though i play cricket it’s so boring to watch.

Two websites that i like to go to for football are

Thanks for taking the time to read it

What I Like About Blogging

If your a student and you have never used, it’s not as bad as some think and it’s als0 not as hard as what people think it is. It’s actually quite similar to Myspace and Facebook and if youhave ever used either of them then you will pick up blogging pretty easy. You can create pages, put up posts, leave comments and add friends as well. you can design how you want your blog so it doesn’t have to be as boring as some other peoples’ ones. To start a blog simply go to the edublogs website and sign up. It comes with a tutorial to show you the basics like starting your avatar and setting your theme.

Grand Final

Probably shouldn’t be putting this on a school blog but I’m bored so I’m doing it anyway. We played in the grand final yesterday and won 1-0 after extra time. After going and watching Maitland (the team that finished third) against Weston (the team that came second). We were there to cheer on Maitland simply because we don’t like Weston. So after Maitland came back from 3-0 down to win it 4-3 we were placed against them in the grand final. After a mid-week ground change we had to play them at their home ground but didn’t phase us a bit. We went out on the field with the no pressure attitude that we had built our season around. With the temperatures peeking at 30 degrees and the mid-day game, blood started to boil and both teams were becoming edgy. Neither team controlled the play very well but the times when we hung onto possession we looked dangerous up front. Jeremy did his best to control the ball and play it around and was our hardest worker in the first half. At half time neither side had created many opportunities mainly due to the great effort from both teams back line. After the break we started to hold onto the ball and look dangerous. As the game wore on and in the horrendous heat, both teams were exhausted. Half way through the second half Craig hit the bar from 20 yards and Quaid almost had a goal after beating the keeper and the sweeper somehow getting a foot to it. Alex would have had a contender for goal of the season with his volley from 18 yards out just missing the top left-hand corner. Jacob also came close to breaking the deadlock but the keeper was up to the task. With five to go in regular time Aaron got a yellow for a late tackle just on the edge of the 18. They just put it over the crossbar and soon after James pulled off a world-class one-on-one save to keep us in the game. As the full-time whistle went we went to extra time. We controlled the game more in extra time and just before the first 10 was up, Craig drilled a shot, which deflected and went in. The celebrations were massive and as extra time went on Maitland had their chances but some great defending from Tom, Deacon and Aaron proved the difference. Along with James in goals we just got home after a last-ditch effort from Maitland to equalize. As the whistle went, the cheers began. We yelled our song in the middle of the field and afterwards went to presentation, where everyone got their trophies and medals. With it being the first premiership for many of the boys, the cheers went for a long time after that. With James getting man-of-the-match and Mat’s victory speech it capped off a memorable day for the whole team. To all the boys: James, Deacon, Aaron, Jeremy, Tom, Alex, Quaid, Craig, Mitch, Jacob, Jake, Brendan and Jaiden congratulations we’ve had a great season and hopefully can do it again next year. :)
